New here? This is your decoder ring. Every emoji, color, and symbol on the list is explained below — so you always know what we’re telling you about a spot.
📅 Tip: On the month lists (September–December), the Calendar button in the toolbar flips the same events into a month grid — or a day-by-day agenda on your phone.
Same rules as the player lists: spots move up, down, or off entirely. A review drops from Klein or LaBan, a place gets hot, a visit disappoints — the list reacts.
Tags are Matt’s vocabulary. He picks them with the checkboxes in the Add or Edit Spot box, so the set stays consistent across every spot.
The third link button next to Menu and the Instagram button — the review, article, or clip that put the spot on the list. A dim button means no link saved yet. (Working name until Matt settles it.)
Watch 101 September through December — events, openings, debuts, concerts, sports. Still a ranked 101 list at heart, and the 📅 Calendar button in the toolbar flips the same events into a month grid. Dates show single days or runs, plus showtimes when they are set, the Menu button becomes Tickets, and Instagram splits into VENUE and ARTIST buttons (artist optional). A month marked STAGING is still being built.
From the 7/29 tape: restaurants stay Philadelphia; bars & breweries deliberately cast a wider net so the ones worth a drive make the cut.
